Between regulation and innovation.
At the industry summit of chemical and pharmaceutical companies in Berlin in mid-September, German chancellor Olaf Scholz spoke out against a universal ban on PFAS in the EU. Does that mean we don’t need to worry about PFAS anymore?
Probably not. In our experience, political statements and regulatory reality don’t always align. That’s why understanding PFAS is important. Therefore, we have established a PFAS working group, won the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health [BAuA] for a dialog, and have initiated trials with more than 20 alternative materials.
We have compiled the latest information on our PFAs topics page.
Jörg Skoda, Head of Applications Engineering at IDT, will present the latest findings on PFAS at the Valve World conference in Düsseldorf on December 3 at 12:30 p.m. Arrange your personal meeting now.

Hydrogen future.
Power-to-gas technologies offer a wide range of opportunities. Gaskets not only guarantee the smooth operation of electrolysis plants, but also reduce fugitive emissions throughout the entire hydrogen landscape. Thinking ahead with hydrogen and including O₂, which is produced as a by-product during the generation of H₂, significantly changes the requirements for gaskets – oxygen is highly reactive. And as fundamentally important as safety is when handling and storing hydrogen, it is essential when handling oxygen.
Not every gasket that appears to be suitable can safely withstand oxygen. High-performance gaskets are needed that do not require adhesives and have improved mechanical properties. High purity requirements are needed throughout the entire process chain, along with a knowing glance at the BAM test report. An apparently simple but crucial quality test. Our LE-Safe product line is an innovative solution for use in the hydrogen landscape that already takes into account the hazard potential of oxygen.
On October 23 and 24, the world's largest hydrogen event will take place. At the Hydrogen Technology Expo Europe in Hamburg, the entire supply chain will come together to discuss technologies, storage, transport, infrastructure, testing and materials. And, of course, they will also talk about gaskets.
We will be happy to tell you about our holistic sealing solutions for the safe and sustainable use of hydrogen. Book your appointment with our hydrogen expert Norman Richter now.

Heroes, good fortune, and 100 + 40 years in just one week.
Heroes are people who are willing to take risks. Who overcome obstacles with great persistence and ingenuity and are committed to the greater good.
IDT's 100 + 40 years would not have been possible without these heroes.
In our history, however, it was often serendipity and good fortune that led our journey from a one-man and one-woman operation to become a leading Sealing Technology Specialist.
In September, we celebrated this amazing journey at our production site in Annaberg-Buchholz. Around 1,000 guests and visitors came to discover the story of our special anniversary. In addition to courage and ingenuity, it was often a dash of luck that opened doors for us.
However, for us, the greatest luck is having people at our side who are part of the IDT story. And who continue to add new chapters to this story with great commitment and passion.
After all, it is these people – our employees, our customers, partners and companions – who are part of our history and have played a major role in our success.
They represent what makes us who we are: closely connected to your needs and the market.
