When trusted materials disappear, reliable answers matter.
Some changes unfold slowly. Others hit unexpectedly. The discontinuation of TFM™ 1600 by 3M/Dyneon falls into both categories.
For years, TFM™ 1600 has been a mainstay in the chemical industry – specified, validated, and trusted. Its discontinuation leaves many with a pressing question: what now? After all, replacing a proven technical specification isn’t a simple task. Not without careful testing, aligned approvals, and hands-on experience.
We've seen a range of reactions. Some market players are already switching to substitute materials – in some cases mid-operation, and not always with the necessary documentation. That’s bold – and risky.
We’re taking a different path. We anticipated the shift early on, secured supply, and adapted our logistics. TFM™ 1600, TFM™ 4105 and other Dyneon materials remain available from us at least through mid-2026 – original grade, spec-compliant.
At the same time, we're evaluating alternatives systematically, with care and close coordination. Inoflon® M295 and Polyflon™ MG3 MOD-FF/HD? We use them. We understand their properties. We know their potential.
For us, technical responsibility means more than keeping stock. It means asking the right questions before offering answers. Standing by your side when the market shifts. And ensuring reliable performance – in the application, in the process, and in the partnership.
