IF YOU WANT A FILM NIGHT FOR ALL THE FAMILY

The Adventures of Prince Achmed (film, PG), with live score from Mira Calix

Mira Calix

IF: 2012 and Independent Cinema MK have joined forces to present The Adventures of Prince Achmed (PG), with a live score from Mira Calix.

One of the first feature length animations ever made and directed by Lotte Reiniger in 1926 is a beautifully crafted fairytale inspired by the Arabian Nights, suitable for all the family.

Award-winning composer Mira Calix has worked with Radiohead, Aphex Twin, the London Sinfonietta and Opera North, and has created a contemporary musical accompaniment to this classic silent film, to be performed live.

The main film will be preceeded by the first public screening in Milton Keynes of Baby Cow Animations’ 10 minute shot film Marvin (PG), written and directed by Mark Nute, narrated by Steve Coogan, with music composed by Jeff Mercel of Mercury Rev.
