Toshiba SD220E SVCD sound Synchronisation patch

Many people have had sound synchronisation problems when playing SVCDs on this DVD player. I have spent a long time trying to find the cause of this, and I believe I have finally succeeded.

It seems to be a problem related to the sub code header in the first packet ofthe MPEG file. I have produced a patched version of VCDimager which you may download here.

Download the patched version of VCDImager 0.7.12 for Windows - suitable for VCDEasy, etc

Download the source for the fixed version - compile your own for other platforms

To install the Windows version, first rename your vcdxbuild.exe file in your vcdImager directory to vcdxbuild.old.exe or something like that. This will allow you to revert at any time in the future. If you are using VCDEasy, then this directory will typically be c:\program files\vcdEasy\VCDimager.

Now unzip the new vcdxbuild.exe file into the vcdimager directory. Just use VCDImager / VCDEasy as normal.

Note: I have only applied the fix to the xml-based builder in version 0.7.12. If you wish to use other versions, please use the source provided.

My apologies to experts in the GNU world if I have not done everything right with regard to distribution etc! I have tried my best with an unfamilar environment.
