   Notes: The ANOSIM R statistics fall between -1 and 1 with R = 0 indicating completely random grouping while R = 1 indicates that all replicates of a site type are more similar to each other than to any replicates of another site type. Significant R values indicate the R value is significantly different from zero. A significant Global R indicates that there are differences between site types somewhere in the analysis. The P value for the global R in each analysis was 0.001. Significant R values for individual site-type comparisons indicate that the compared site types are significantly dissimilar from one another. LC, LP, and PJ column titles refer to the three study locations. "Near" and "far" designations refer to the distance class those sites are in (see Table 1 in article). If "near" and "far" are not indicated, the test is examining all of the sites in that habitat category.
