Appendix A. Photographs of experimental subtidal filter feeder transplants.

Filter feeder transplants (A) were composed of an oyster array of staked 15 × 15cm PVC plates (B) that housed 50 oysters (Crassostrea gigas) and a cylindrical mesh cage (5000 cm3) (C) that housed 50 green lipped mussels (Perna canaliculus). Filter feeder transplants were anchored to the reef at 6–10 m depth and suspended 1.5 m above the substratum with a float.
