TABLE B1. Parameter estimates for logistic-regression models for 16 species of riparian birds. Models were fitted using vegetation measurements at five spatial scales (0.2–50.2 ha). The area-under-the-curve (AUC) value derived from a temporally-independent test data set is reported for each model. When intercept-only models were no better than models that included vegetation characteristics, we did not calculate AUC statistics, indicated as "NA". For models with a test AUC > 0.75, the spatial scale with the greatest AUC value for the testing data set is boldfaced. M and V are values for the canopy height and canopy heterogeneity (the CV of canopy height), respectively.
