TABLE A1. Three-way ANOVAs of data shown in Fig. 1. Data were normalized (to 4-h total) and arcsine transformed prior to analyses. (A) ANOVA testing effects of month, elapsed time (h) after initial immersion, and sample type (release, transport, or settlement) on carcarial abundance during the period of larval emergence (May-October) (see Fig. 1A). The significant interaction indicates that the hourly pattern within each 4-h interval varied among monthly tides; however, the amount of variation explained by this effect is small relative to the elapsed time effect. (B) ANOVA testing effects of time of initial immersion, elapsed time (h), and sample type (release, transport, or settlement) on cercarial distributions (see Fig. 1B). The interaction indicates that hourly changes over each 4-h interval vary among tide, explaining a small portion of the variance relative to the elapsed time effect.
