Appendix A. Details on the environmental variables used in the study.

Table A1. Mean, standard deviation (SD), and range of the environmental variables for the 85 watersheds. The values for each watershed was obtained by averaging values across lakes within each of them. SA = surface area, P = shoreline perimeter, ISL = island shoreline perimeter, MeanD = mean depth, MaxD = maximum depth, SD = secchi depth, GDD = growing degree days, Elev = elevation, TDS = total dissolved solids, MEI = morpho-edaphic index, MADT = mean annual daily temperature, Crown = canopy cover, MJT = mean July temperatures, MAT = mean August temperatures and PET = potential evapotranspiration. Summary statistics for all variables are based on untransformed data.
