Appendix D. Results from Mantel tests showing statistical significance of the association between floral distance (Jaccard’s Coefficient), spatial distance, and environmental distance data. All tests performed using 1,000 random permutations of the original matrices. We quantified floral distances between pairs of sites by calculating Jaccard's Coefficient on arcsin square root transformed proportions of the original lineintercept cover estimates. We quantified the environmental differences between pairs of sites by calculating Euclidean Distances, either directly from the quantitative environmental variables (RAW), or from site scores derived from a Principal Components Analysis of the same environmental variables (PCA). Spatial distances between pairs of sites were calculated trignometrically from their UTM coordinates.
