IF Focus: Catalan & Balearic Islands Events

IF: 2012 presents a series of events, artists and productions that celebrates work from the region of Catalonia and the Balearic Islands. These are presented in association with the Institut Ramon Llull. Events are featured across the 10 days of the Festival and include:

Enfila’t: Plecs - Saturday 21, Sunday 22 & Tuesday 24 July, Theatre Tent, Campbell Park: Breathtaking theatre, music, acrobatics, circus and dance entwine in this witty and enthralling production. Plecs – meaning ‘folds’ - is ingenious and jaw droppingly entertaining, and presented by this award-winning international company comprising some of the world’s best physical performers. More information here

Res de Res: Bridges (Pontes) - Saturday 28 July, Campbell Park: A character inhabits a rather strange set constructed from hundreds of drawers and boxes that looks for all the world like a curious pop-up junk shop - and yet he still manages to perform incredible acrobatics with unnerving skill in seemingly impossible paces . . . Highly entertaining, slightly surreal visual theatre mixing circus, dance and music. More information here

Guixot de 8: Giant Art Games - Saturday 28 & Sunday 29 July, Cambell Park: This extraordinary company from Barcelona have taken inspiration from well-known sculptures made by 20th century artists and re-imagined them, using reclaimed materials and ingenious mechanics, into games and puzzles. Great fun for young and old alike! More information here

IF FOCUS EVENTS AT THE WORLD PICNIC - Sunday 29 July, Campbell Park:

Circ Panic: L’homme que perdia els botons (The Man Who Loses his Buttons): Witty and breathtaking physical acrobatics to have you on the edge of your seat.

MuMusic Circus: Roda Món (My Wheel): A fascintating, highly visual and theatrical performance combining music and circus.
