IF Student Placement

IF: 2012 is looking for a dynamic and motivated person to give additional logistical and administrative support in the lead up to, and throughout, the 10 days of the Festival.

This role would be suitable for someone who is looking for a short-term work placement as a requirement of their under-graduate or post-graduate study, or seeking to build practical work experience in the arts and events industry.

Title: Festival Student Placement

Reporting to: Project Support Manager

Place of Work: The Stables, Stockwell Lane, Wavendon, Milton Keynes MK17 8LU, Festival Central in Campbell Park, Milton Keynes MK9 4AD and other Festival sites

Dates: Monday 18 June - Monday 30 July 2012

Hours: 10am - 6pm, though this will change during the Festival depending on the event schedule so flexibilty will be required

Salary: This is an unpaid volunteer role. Parking expenses will be re-imbursed and crew catering meals provided during the 10 days of the Festival

Benefits: Complimentary tickets to The Stables and IF: 2012 events available. Festival T-shirts provided during the Festival.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • To assist the Project Support Manager with administrative and logistical support, both at the IF office base at The Stables, and on-site at the Festival in Campbell Park
  • To provide office support, including answering the phone, responding to emails and letters 
  • To assist with accommodation and travel enquiries for artists and performers
  • Assisting with filing
  • To assist with publicity, promotions and marketing (eg. distribution of brochures and leaflets)
  • Preparing festival badges and lanyards (identity passes)
  • To assist with the scheduling of volunteers
  • Preparing event kitboxes to support event delivery
  • To assist with the preparation and delivery of Festival events eg. Festival Launch, closing party
  • To act as a 'runner', undertaking communications between venues during the Festival
