PRECOS
The University of Nottingham
PRECOS, at the University of Nottingham provides a flexible pre-clinical research and development service with a specific focus on oncology, through innovation technology and service. For further information please visit www.precos.org
The Biopolymer synthesis and Analysis Unit (BSAU) at University of Nottingham, offers on a service basis;
- analytical techniques around gene sequencing (genetic analysis services on a pay-by-sample basis)
- DNA sequencing and fragment analysis are offered
- Synthesis (synthetic services to complement both the genetic and proteomic analytical services)
We can provide both synthetic DNA primers for use in sequencing and other molecular biology applications and also synthetic peptides for use in a wide range biological applications and proteomics. The unit provides a full proteomic analysis service, including in-gel digestion of proteins separated on polyacrylamide gels. There are two main options of identification of proteins; by either simple MALDI-PMF analysis or ESI-LC-MS/MS for more detailed analyses generating de novo amino acid sequences.
