  • 36 employer attended an event in June 2009
  • 750 students attended
  • Employers and students attended joint workshops and listened to a range of case studies where businesses talked about the Chinese talent they had hired and how they were now building brand awareness as a result.
  • Employers explained how they had used their Chinese Talent; how they had developed business relationships built their brand and generated business.
  • Businesses had the opportunity to pre-circulate vacancies in advance of the event
  • This generated interest amongst those attending and resulted in all vacancies receiving high numbers of high quality applications.
  • Two posts are now filled and it is expected that the remaining 3 vacancies will be filled shortly
  • 86% of attendees surveyed, stated they would recommend a similar future event to a business colleague
  • The event demonstrated the commercial benefits of recruiting international students and graduates
  • The event strengthened the relationship between the East Midlands Business Community and the University Careers Services.

The Group are planning a second event on which will focus on the Indian Market and Indian Talent and will be co-hosted with the EM India Desk.
