Solutions Group
Performance Management

Description and aims
The company had outgrown its existing software and communications systems. As a result, efficiency and customer service were beginning to suffer. In a highly competitive market, it was imperative for Solutions Group to improve efficiency and the flow of information between its depots, head office and customers.
The project aimed to develop and implement s new organisational system to meet the company’s future growth and business plans. The MBS Navision Attain software was selected and then greatly enhanced and customised before being implemented with a new network system.
About Solutions Group
Solutions Group is a fast-growing market leader in the distribution of satellite and television equipment to the trade, based in Northampton. The company’s success is due to providing a ‘one-stop shop’ and being able to supply customers with all their business requirements.
How the project is being undertaken
The project was completed via a Government funded programme called a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP). Each KTP aims to facilitate the two-way transfer of knowledge and technology between an organisation (in this case, Solutions Group) and their chosen academic partner (The University of Northampton).
For the duration of the KTP the company is able to employ a KTP Associate, a full time member of staff who project leads the programme. They are supported by an Academic specialist who is also based in the company for half a day a week.
